With 170 registrants and a warm September day, Horicon Bank completed their sixth 5K Run/Walk for Wellness in Lakeside Park on Saturday, September 16th. Collaborating once again with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), which is a nationwide organization whose mission is to provide education, support and advocacy for families and people with mental illness, all race proceeds benefit the local Fond du Lac chapter of NAMI, Friendship Corner, and the NAMI Drop-In Center. Our 2017 partner sponsor was Agnesian Health Care.
Horicon Bank’s Vice President, Dale Hans, was excited to support NAMI Fond du Lac for a sixth year. “NAMI has a valuable mission with local focus here in Fond du Lac – helping Fond du Lac families,” said Hans. “By partnering with NAMI, we hope to provide awareness and promote wellness both physically and mentally.”
Over the last six years, Horicon Bank’s Run/Walk for Wellness has raised over $20,000 for the local programs of NAMI Fond du Lac. The event is open for all ages and experience levels, and Lakeside Park offers a scenic course for avid runners and walkers alike.
The race included chip timing, refreshments at the finish line and an award ceremony. The top male and female finisher each received $100 and medals were awarded to the top male and female finishers in each age group.
Thank you to all that participated and helped make the event a success. We hope to see you all again next year!
