Call for Artists: Horicon Bank Sculpture Commission

Celebrating Creativity in Wisconsin

Horicon Bank is pleased to announce a call for proposals from artists who live or work in Wisconsin for a commissioned sculpture at its Wauwatosa branch. The selected artwork will be prominently featured in the building’s interior stairwell at 11530 W. Burleigh Street – an area that is not only a central architectural element but also highly visible to both visitors and passersby in this bustling shopping district. The sculpture should be inclusive and welcoming, designed to resonate with people of all ages and be clearly visible from both inside the building and outside.

Theme

Incorporate themes related to Horicon Bank’s rich 129-year history and its identity as ‘The Natural Choice.’ Potential concepts may explore the Horicon Marsh, environmental elements, commitment to community, the aspiration to “Fly Higher,” and the meaning of Wauwatosa “firefly.”

Eligibility

Open to all artists, individuals or collaborations, at any career stage, currently residing or working in the state of Wisconsin. New and existing artworks are eligible.

Sculpture Details

The selected artist will receive $25,000 for the conception, fabrication, and installation of the sculpture, including materials, shipping, site preparation and placement.
