Small Business Administration Loans (SBA)

Horicon Bank partners with WHEDA to offer innovative products and services that link customers with affordable housing and economic development opportunities.
WHEDA Business Loans can enable a business to grow and expand. Expansion or acquisition of an existing small business. An expansion may involve a new line of business that complements the existing business.
Start-up of a small business in a vacant storefront in the downtown area of a rural community. A rural community is defined as “(1) a city, town or village in this state with a population of 12,000 or less, or (2) a city, town or village in this state that is located in a county with a population density of less than 150 persons per square mile.”

The purpose of the B&I (Business & Industry) Guaranteed Loan Program is to improve, develop, or finance business, industry, and employment and improve the economic and environmental climate in rural communities.
Who May Borrow?
A borrower may be a cooperative organization, corporation, partnership, or other legal entity organized and operated on a profit or nonprofit basis; an Indian tribe on a Federal or State reservation or other federally recognized tribal group; a public body; or an individual. A borrower must be engaged in or proposing to engage in a business that will:
- Provide employment; Improve the economic or environmental climate;
- Promote the conservation, development, and use of water for aquaculture;
- or Reduce reliance on nonrenewable energy resources by encouraging the development and construction of solar energy systems and other renewable energy systems.
