September is a month of changes. School is back in session, summer starts its tug o’ war with autumn, and the fall harvest starts changing the look of the rural landscape. In wild places nuts, berries, and rice ripen for harvest. Great bird migrations begin to fill the skies as nighthawks, waterfowl, and many songbirds are on the move. Even the water begins to change as cool nights and shorter daylight triggers salmon and trout to make spawning runs.
Change is one of great things about living in Wisconsin. Unlike so many other places, we get to enjoy a wide variety of seasons, weather, and landscapes! While some of us can be reluctant to embrace change, it is important to remember it can also open the door to many new possibilities.
